The rain was intermittent as I hiked along the trail on the top of Mount Roberts hoping for a ray of sun. I was staying pretty dry with my hooded parka but my camera gear needed drying every few minutes. Thinking this was a lesson in futility I was about to head back down the mountain when that elusive ray appeared in the distance over the Chilkat Mountains. Visible from miles away the snow capped peaks offer an inspiring view typical of the Southeast Alaskan topography.
