The Great One. Commonly known as Mount McKinley, this is the tallest mountain in North America and has the highest ascent in the world from base to top. Over 15,000 feet! Since Denali creates its own weather patterns it is mostly obscured by clouds. Many visitors to Denali National Park never see this magnificent sight. The lucky few who do are in awe with this great mountain.

I photographed the "Mountain" in late September. The park was very quiet with few visitors. Fresh snow had blanketed the entire area and as the storm lifted I was afforded this wondrous sight. « less
