394 Denali Midnight.jpg

I made my way to Wonder Lake at the end of the 87-mile dirt road that winds through the greatest wilderness in North America. That itself was a trip, but what a treat awaited me as I rounded the last turn to the location were I had planned to photograph Denali. Visitors have only a 30 % chance of even seeing the mountain and this was my lucky day. <br />
It was midnight and the mosquitoes were abundant, but I was prepared with gloves and mosquito netting. The lake was smooth as glass producing a perfect reflection of America's tallest mountain. I waited until the alpenglow was just right, then began making photographs. What a magnificent opportunity!
