I have always wanted to get a shot of Lupines at this pond with the reflection of Mt. Moran. This was the first time I found water in the seasonal pond, but alas, no lupine. I still wanted to get the reflection and discover what other possibities might present themselves so I started to hike in the thick willows to find artistic options. As I walked slowly through the brush I startled 2 bull moose. They had been lying down out of sight chewing their cud.
Of course I was startled, too, and I backed out of the willows to a safer spot. Eventually the 2 moose began feeding and I began making images. I returned several times and after hundreds of images decided this reflection of one moose was much better than the lupines I had hoped for.
