This image of an American Bald Eagle appears to have been taken from a plane or high on a mountain side. In reality, I was at sea level in an area where the mountains grow right out of the sea. It was November and winter had already settled in. Nearby, 3000 eagles gathered for their last feeding frenzy of salmon before heading to less severe climates.
I was watching several eagles take the same flight path, probably to a roost. I positioned my camera with the snow capped mountain in the background and waited. After several eagles flew by, this one tilted its wings to give me the image I wanted.
